OLD MILL SITE MAKES WAY FOR THE FUTURE

Billabong Road and Bridge Maintenance does some good and effective concrete cleaning and quite literally at that. Concrete footings in the old chip and hog fuel area were cleared out efficiently and in reasonably quick time by the enterprise. This was at the old Skeena Cellulose mill site. The Terrace Lumber Company will thus be history and only located in the realms of memory now. The graffiti covered concrete footings were thus cleaned by Billabong Road and Bridge Maintenance and absolutely at that. Garry Roth of NSD Development Corp spoke of how the concrete cleaning job is almost done and well done at that.

The company in the mean while owns the 52.5 acres of the property.Skeena Cellulose had set up the saw mill way back in the year of 1988. There was a lot of activity taking place at the mill for years until plain and ever bad luck hit them big time at that. This was even as they had got into bankruptcy protection in 1997. This is where the downward slide began for the company and it remained that way over the years. It was later to be that the Terrace Lumber Company went on to purchase the mill and even as it was permanently shut in the year of 2007. Although future plans as far as the fate of the site is concerned still remain veiled, one thing is for sure, with the concrete cleaning job as performed by the Billabong Road and Bridge Maintenance, the mill and its absolute memory has been done away with.
